HKEMCA Membership is restricted to companies dealing with electrical and mechanical aspects of building construction. Four smaller trade associations are members, represented by their respective presidents (the Plumbers and Sanitary Ware Contractors Association, the Lift and Escalator Contractors Association, the Fire Services Installation Contractors Association and the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Contractors Association). There are currently about 28 members.
These
all
trade
to
associations sit on Government consultative committees and as such are considered represent
aspects of the industry. This is obviously an important sector in view of its contribution to the physical development of the territory and its size, employing approximately 230,000 people.
