(viii) to promote better social security and a
welfare system that is appropriate for the circumstances of Hong Kong;

to support such members of the Association to stand for or otherwise participate in local elections including but without limitation, election of the Chief Executive, the Legislative Council, Urban and Regional Councils and District Boards, as appropriate;
to promote and facilitate interflow in know-how, technology, telecommunication, education, culture and sports with other countries and regions and to promote the political, social, technological, educational, cultural and other interests of the members of the Hong Kong public;
to foster the community spirit and to provide social services and activities and recreations to the Hong Kong public at large;
to propose and recommend to the governing authority of Hong Kong with respect to deliberation and formulation of policy;
to accept and receive donations, subscriptions and gifts from persons, corporations or organizations for any one Or more of the objects set out in the foregoing and to give receipts therefor;
to organize fund-raising projects and activities to promote, demonstrate, support and carry out any of the above objects and to pay and discharge payments and expenses incurred for such projects and activities;
to organize campaigns and activities to promote, demonstrate, support and carry out any of the above objects and to pay and discharge payments and expenses incurred for such campaigns
and activities;
to purchase, sell, lease, mortgage, improve, manage or otherwise dispose of or deal in land, houses or other properties, whether leaseholds or otherwise and whether movable or immovable;
to borrow any money required for the purposes of the Association with or without security;
(h) to hire and employ all classes of persons necessary or expedient for the purposes of the Association and to pay them in return for the services rendered to the Association, salaries, wages, allowances and pensions in accordance with the laws governing employment for the time being in force in Hong Kong:

to invest and deal with the money of the Association which is not immediately required in such manner as may from time to time be thought fit;
to do all such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of all or any of the objects set out above.
