ALTERNATIVE EMPLOYMENT FOR HMOCS OFFICERS
16
Thank you for sending me a copy of your note of the meeting which took place on 15 November.
2.
The note is not quite accurate in its description of what I said about future employment through ODA. We would be willing to hear from professional staff wishing to work in the developing world,
in the developing world, not necessarily Dependent Territories. We would then assess their qualifications and experience and decide whether to include them on our "Register of Available Personnel". HMOCS applicants would have to compete on equal terms with others for any posts to which we are recruiting. I would not wish to give HMOCS officers the impression that we will be in а position
offer them any special consideration or priority treatment.

I have not copied this note to Mr Shipley but you may care to let him have further clarification at some stage.
