Dear Sir,
1.
You ask that we submit Programme Development and
Capital Investment Proposals for the next six years, commencing
the period September 1989 to August 1995, in your letter of
28th September.
2.
The Capital Investment Proposal is relatively
straightfoward, so it is being dealt with first. A total of
$49-m. is budgeted.
2.1.

ENGINEERING INVESTMENT
The engineering items which amount to $36.45m.
account for the bulk of the proposed expenditure programme.
Of this amount, $14.5-m. has already been committed. Some of
the other items may be deferred or cancelled, but major items,
such as replacement of AM Transmitters and Studio Equipment
budgeted for a total of $12.3-m. will be executed.
2.2.
Peng Chau Transmitter Station Renovation:
The estimated cost for this item is around $1-m.
Our contractor quoted a sum of $630,000 for the renovation
of the building, fencing and drainage work. The balance of
commercial radio hong kong 10000 watts
transmissions in Chinese 864 kHz, 675 kHz. FM 102 4 MHz, 104 6 MHz. English 1044 kHz
