In the rapidly changing radio environment training never stops and suitable staff members are sent overseas for advanced courses.

Over the past few years newsmen from both language channels have attended courses in UK and one staff member has had a broadcast management course at the BBC.

Programme people have also attended courses organized by the Independent Radio stations in the UK and personnel from News and Programme Departments have been on occasions attached to radio stations in

Australia.

The Company is so conscious of the importance of effective training, not only for Commercial Radio but for the overall broadcasting industry in Hong Kong that if a central radio training school is

set up,

as recommended by the Broadcasting Review Board, Commercial Radio will support it by providing tutorial expertise through the part time services of its key staff. It will also provide

students for enrolment in elementary radio

training and experienced broadcasters to join refresher courses.
