PROGRAMME DEVELOPMENT
SIX YEAR PROJECTIONS
(9)
The current wide range of the company's programme s on all three stations is the basis for all future development.
The station's coverage includes local, international, business, sports and traffic news, news commentaries and analysis, current affairs, public service and charity appeals, practical education, drama, variety, general entertainment and music.
We can expect a growing listener interest in music works created in China, particularly in the Guangzhou region, and to a lesser extent in Taiwan. Putonghua is being more and more widely used and studied and it is inevitable that more programmes in this language will be produced and broadcast.

Internally we expect the constant rise in Hong Kong's standard of living to continue and our listeners will be more demanding in the quality of programming both in music and the spoken word. While the bulk of programming must appeal to the majority, narrowcasting to minority groups will become a growing factor in the company's programming.
Compact disc players are currently being installed in all studios to ensure the finest music reproduction when FM broadcasting starts. It is also planned to reintroduce the popular programme 'Symphony Hall' and other minority music programmes.
