Standard

The licensee should be required to comply with the Code of Practice relating to Advertising Standards as may be issued by the Broadcasting Authority from time to time.

Control

The licensee should limit the daily total of advertising time on any service to 12 per cent of the time during which broadcasting takes place in the

hour

period commencing at 6 o'clock in the morning on that service. However, there should not be any specific requirements in respect of the duration of breaks, length of programme segments and amount of non-programme material in any clock hour.

The licensee should be permitted to insert advertisement breaks into news programmes, but should not be permitted to accept sponsorship for news programmes.

32.

With effect from 26 August 1989, the licensee should not broadcast any tobacco advertisements or accept tobacco sponsorship for programmes broadcast between 4:00 pm to 10:30 pm each day and from 1 December 1990 onwards, the licensee should not broadcast any tobacco advertising or accept tobacco sponsorship.
