The regular audience of 3.7% is equivalent to about 800,000 people aged 15 and over in urban Indonesia. (Urban dwellers make up about one-fifth of the total population of Indonesia).

AUDIENCE COMPOSITION

Three-quarters of the BBC Indonesian Service regular audience in urban Indonesia were men, two-thirds were aged between 20 and 39, and over a tenth had received higher education. Compared with the sample as a whole, the BBC regular audience was better educated and contained a higher proportion of men and people in their 20s and 30s.
