Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
Short title
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Legal Officers (Amendment) Ordinance 1989.
Section added
2.
The Legal Officers Ordinance (Cap. 87) is amended by adding after section 2-
"Appointment qualification
2A. No person shall be appointed as a legal officer unless he has been admitted as a legal practitioner in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom or in a jurisdiction listed in Schedule 1 of the Legal Practitioners Ordinance (Cap. 159).".
