Additional Services
The Government wishes to ascertain details of any additional services (such as
pay-per-view) or proposed simultaneous re-transmission of signals originating outside Hong Kong that are not fully covered in the original submission.
Fees and Charges
The Government announced on 27 June 1989 that the
CTV network licensee would not have to pay wayleave fees for laying cables under
under Government land. A fee will be charged for cables run through Government tunnels.
Additional Sound Channels
In connection with programmes acquired
acquired overseas and dubbed into Chinese, you are requested to put forward an outline proposal for
for the simultaneous transmission of the sound track in the original language.
Coverage of Remote Areas
Please set out your plans for serving Sai Kung and the outlying islands, particularly in the light of item (f).
I should like to take this opportunity to bring to your attention the fact that it is Government policy, subject to the approval the Legislative Council, to introduce legislation to cover the right of access by the CTV operator to private buildings and to make theft of service a criminal offence.
