Would you please convey to the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary our thanks for his article on Hong Kong which you sent to us on May 10. Your letter arrived while senior staff were in Canada. Sir Geoffrey's article will appear as planned in the July edition of The Parliamentarian, although similar articles which we requested from Hon. Martin Lee and Hon. Maria Tam have not been received.

You may also care to advise the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary that he may add additional paragraphs to the article on recent developments in Peking and Hong Kong should he wish to do so. This could be done when we send

One minor point: in lines 7 and 8 on paragraph 2 of the first page, the article reads, "Before that agreement, Hong Kong faced a future". Am I correct in assuming that this should read "uncertain future"?
