Towards the end of last year, we compiled a list of upbeat quotations from the British and International press from the time of the conclusion of the Joint Declaration in 1984 to serve as "ammunition" in the face of the spate of rather negative press articles at the time.
As promised, I have now completed a similar exercise with the Hong Kong press and enclose a copy for you and copy addressees in the hope that, should we come under fire once again, we may be armed with some useful retorts.
