3. (a) THE Trustee shall stand possessed of the Trust Fund
and the income thereof (subject to and in accordance with the
provisions hereinafter contained) in trust to apply the same
for the advancement of education in any manner exclusively
charitable and for the benefit of the public of the United
Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland ("the United
Kingdom") or of the residents of Hong Kong or any section of
the public of either.
(b) In furtherance of the foregoing charitable object
but not further or otherwise and without prejudice to the
generality of the same the Trustee shall have the
following powers:
(i)
Power to use all or any of the capital or
income of the Trust Fund for the provision of
financial assistance (by way of scholarship grant
payment of fees or otherwise as the Trustee may
determine) for men and women who are domiciled and
resident in Hong Kong to enable them to travel to
the United Kingdom and to follow in the United
Kingdom any course of study research or other
educational pursuit which will advance the
_ducation of the assisted individual.
(ii) Power to use all or any of the capital or
income of the Trust Fund for the provision of
financial assistance (by way of grant or otherwise
as the Trustee may determine) for any charitable
educational institution in the United Kingdom.
