Dear Mr Gee,
NC 18/9
As you know, we and the Hong Kong Government have for some time been giving careful consideration to the subject of the future of the Commonwealth War Graves in Hong Kong. We are now in a position to consult you about the proposals which we have in mind.
I would therefore like to invite you, and any of your colleagues involved in this matter, to come to the FCO in order that we may brief you in detail on our proposals and seek your views.
I will be away on leave until mid-September, and will thereafter be involved in the Joint Liaison Group meeting.
I will be away on leave from 21 August to 11 September. We could meet after tht date; alternatively if you would prefer an earlier meeting, you would be very welcome to call on my Deputy Rosalind Marsden, together with other members of the department dealing with this matter. Rosalind Marsden can be contacted on 01-270 2650.
Yours Sincerch Alan Panc
A R Paul
