Substitution of "Authority" for "Government Surveyor"

40. Regulations 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and the Schedule are amended by repealing "Government Surveyor" wherever it appears and substituting "Authority".

Boilers and Pressure Receivers Regulations

Citation

41. Regulation 1 of the Boilers and Pressure Receivers Regulations (Cap. 56, sub. leg.) is amended by repealing "Receivers" and substituting "Vessels".

General provisions as to construction, etc. of boilers, etc.

42. Regulation 2 is amended by repealing "receiver" wherever it appears and substituting "vessel".

Requirements with respect to boilers

43. (1) Regulation 3(1) is amended-

(a) in sub-paragraph (a)(ii), by repealing "steam pipe" and substituting

"system";

(b) by repealing sub-paragraph (a)(iii) and substituting--

"(iii) a correct pressure gauge, connected to the boiler and easily visible by the boiler attendant, which shall have marked upon it by a red line the maximum permissible working pressure of the boiler and which shall indicate the pressure in the boiler in pascals or multi- ples of pascals;".

(2) The following is added after regulation 3(3)—

"(4) Paragraph (1)(a)(iv) and (c) shall not apply to vessels in which oil is heated at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure.”.

Requirements with respect to steam receivers

44. Regulation 4(1)(c) is repealed and the following substituted—

"(c) a correct steam pressure gauge, which shall have marked on it by a red line the maximum permissible working pressure of the steam receiver and which shall indicate the pressure of steam in the steam receiver in pascals or multiples of pascals;”.

Requirements with respect to air receivers

45. (1) Regulation 5(1)(c) is repealed and the following substituted-

"(c) be fitted with a correct pressure gauge, which shall indicate the pressure

of air in the air receiver in pascals or multiples of pascals;".

(2) Regulation 5(2) is amended by repealing "pressure vessel” and sub- stituting "pressurized fuel container".
