Mr and Mrs Blower will be interested to learn that the Hong Kong Government has declared itself fully committed to the conservation of endangered species and supports stricter and more effective control of the ivory trade. It has already taken certain measures on its own initiative, such as the development of a computer data base to monitor the movement of ivory and the setting up of a special task force to investigate and suppress any illegal import and export of ivory through Hong Kong.
