if he will give details of the sale by tender by the Hong Kong authorities of confiscated items permitted for commercial trade under CITES; what items were sold; to whom they were sold; and what amount was raised in each case.

ANSWER:
There has been no sale by tender of confiscated items permitted
for commercial trade under CITES since February 1988. A sale
by tender, planned for January 1989, was cancelled.
