Use ivory substitute for piano keys, hairbrush back, shaving brushes.
Use gold and silver for jewellery.
Educate the Japanese through the press, television, slide shows and lectures on the terrible destruction of the entire population of elephant which is occurring. I do not believe the average Japanese is even aware of the problem.
