DISCLOSE WHAT THOSE DISCUSSIONS INVOLVED.

SIR DAVID, YOU MENTIONED THAT THE NAVAL BASE WOULD BE MOVED IN 1992. WHEN WOULD YOU ENVISAGE THE MILITARY HEADQUARTERS BEING MOVED?

WE'VE MADE NO DECISION AT ALL ABOUT THE PRINCE OF WALES BUILDING.

THAT IS NOT A DECISION WHICH WE HAVE TO MAKE EARLY. IT DOES NOT IN

ANY WAY AFFECT THE BROAD RECLAMATION. IT COULD WELL STAY THERE IF IT

REQUIRED TO BE OR IT COULD BE MOVED BUT IT IS NOT AN ESSENTIAL ELEMENT OF GOING AHEAD WITH THAT DECISION.

REGARDING THE KAI TAK AIRPORT, CAN YOU PLEASE GIVE SOME MORE DETAILS ON THE REDEVELOPMENT PLANS?

WELL I THINK, AS MR BARNES HAS SAID, IT DEPENDS VERY MUCH UPON THE FINAL LAYOUT AND HOW MUCH OF IT IS GIVEN TO COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT. I THINK MR BARNES DID MAKE THE POINT - AND IT IS AN INTERESTING ONE

THAT THIS AREA HERE OFFERS A GREAT POTENTIAL FOR A RECLAMATION INVOLVING THE WHOLE OF KAI TAK. YOU WILL SEE THAT SOME OF IT HAS BEEN EARMARKED AS ''PORT DEVELOPMENT'' ONE OF OUR NEW MULTI-PURPOSE BERTH PORTS HERE OR POSSIBLY CONTAINERS AND THE REST OF IT IS CLEARLY OPEN TO A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF DEVELOPMENT. THE FIGURE OF 20 BILLION WHICH I THINK MR BARNES MENTIONED, IS BASED UPON 30 PER CENT OF IT BEING MADE AVAILABLE FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT. 30 PER CENT OF THE AIRPORT SITE BUT NOT INCLUDING THE

RECLAMATION.
