The COS endorsed (CDS 4/89) 5 specific objectives for the OOACG in 1989, all of which have been closely addressed by the
OOACG during its meetings of 1989:
a.
'Improve the alignment with COS priorities of MOD- sponsored subsidies for military assistance to 00A
countries.' Paragraphs 60 and 61 explain actions in hand.
b.
'Improve the mechanism for targeting exercises and deployments'. To better assist the OOACG in achieving this aim, the O0ACG Exercises and Deployments Sub-group was formed at the start of the year and has met twice to date. As the experience of this Sub-group develops, so will its ability to focus more precisely on the requirements necessary for the successful targeting of deployments and
exercises. Paragraph 74 expands on this theme.
C.
'Contribute to a review of policy in the future of the Belize Garrison.' Paragraph 65 highlights the progress on the "Belize Garrison Policy Review", a draft Paper, written by Sec (0) (C), and now on circulation within the MOD.
