The MARPOL expansion programme will be completed by

the end of 1991 when 4 divisional command launches, 28

divisional patrol launches, 10 harbour command and patrol

launches, 21 inshore patrol craft and 4 logistics launches

will be in service. Although the Marine Police will then be

fully capable of carrying out a wide range of policing duties,

the enhanced MARPOL command structure will require some time

to gain experience in the operation of the expanded fleet.
