Coordination. The FSO is to maintain close liaison with local civil and military frequency assignment authorities, whenever this is feasible and appropriate.
Communication Security.
a. Transmission Security. It must be assumed that all radio communication circuits are liable to hostile interception and possibly jamming. Operators and other users of radio circuits are to be reminded of the need for strict adherence to approved communication procedures, security rules and circuit discipline. The FSO will issue such additional ECCM instructions as necessary in the light of the known or anticipated EW threat.
b.
Cryptographic Security.
Protection for classified communication traffic will be provided in accordance with the principles set out in JSP 2, Supplement No 1 (Cryptographic Supplement).
54. Spare.
55. Cryptography. As far as possible on-line cryptographic protection will be provided on telegraph and certain voice circuits. Actual cryptographic equipment and keys to be used on CRLs are detailed in the appropriate CRLIS of DCNP No 7. Off-line protection will be provided for back up purposes or for cover of unprotected circuits where necessary where provision of on-line equipment is not feasible eg, civil circuits. Cryptographic equipments with keys that will be used are as follows:
