ASSISTANCE FOR EVACUEES
ANNEX C TO JTP 1
(9TH REVISE)
The four Packages drawn up in the Staff Table at Enclosure 1, have been designed to cater for emergency assistance to evacuees if requested by HM Ambassador/British High Commissioner (see paragraphs 62 and 70 of the Main Plan and Annex G, paragraph 6n). The size of each Package is related to the estimated maximum number of refugees that may have to be cared for by British Service personnel at any one time.
2. Personnel and stores will be 'on call'. Up to seven days notice is required to assemble a Package; this should be taken into account when the notice of forces is being reduced.
3.
Serials for rations are for one day only. Depending on the estimated duration of the assistance, the freight weight will have to be multiplied accordingly.
4.
The freight weight for catering does not include cooking equipment; this is included with accommodation stores.
5. Details of personnel, stores and equipment are included at Appendix 2 to
7.
6.
Appendix 7 contains details of water supply equipment which can be used for evacuees camps.
7. Appendix 8 contains a guide to handling evacuees taken on board HM Ships.
