FCO. The FCO will co-ordinate details of potential evacuees from information received from relatives and employers, through the FCO Crisis Details will be passed to MOD for onward transmission to the JFHQ.

50. Reconnaissance Before an Operation is Mounted. HM Ambassador/BHC in the country concerned will notify the FCO as soon as he assesses that the siutation could possibly deteriorate to the point at which he would be obliged to request a Services Evacuation. He should at this stage consider the acceptability of an early visit by a Military Intelligence Liaison Officer (MILO). The value of an early reconnaissance in the event of implementation, cannot be overstressed.

51. Intelligence Information in Warning/Request Message. Whether or not a preliminary reconaissance has been carried out, when he subsequently requests a Services Evacuation, HM Ambassador/BHC should include in his warning or request message (paragraph 47) as much information as possible on the current situation in the country.

MAP COVERAGE

52. Map Plans. The provision of mapping support is covered in Annex F Appendix 2. Diagrammatic map plans are included in each Part 2 plan at Annex A. Included in this Annex is the selection and availability of geographic cover. Coverage is required at various scales for the nominated entry points within each JTP. Fifty copies of each nominated sheet will be held.

53. Map Issue. Maps for use by units participating in SAE operations are held under arrangements made by MOD (DG Mil Svy). Maps, as required, will be issued under single-Service arrangements as follows:
