C. The reduction of 660 Sqn AAC Scout helicopters
Unit Establishment (UE) from 8 UE to 6 operational UE
aircraft plus 2 reserves in Hong Kong. (The
administration of the reserves to be discussed under
Item 4).
d. The reduction of 28 Sqn RAF Wessex helicopters
from an Aircraft Establishment (AE) of 8 to 6 AE plus
2 In Use Reserves (IURS) (The detail of the aircrew
establishment to be discussed under Item 5).
ITEM 1. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING.
4. The Chairmen referred the Committee to the Minutes of
the previous meeting held on 5 Oct 88, Reference B,
indicating that he was content that they were an accurate
record having been transcribed from tape. He secured the
Committee's approval to confine discussion to the record of
decisions provided for each delegate and to which
ensuing paragraph headings refer.

Paragraph la - Withdrawal of Battalions. The decisions
taken at the last meeting that there should be no change to
the dates of withdrawal of the first and second battalions
were now reflected in the Withdrawal Plan First Revise. The
Chairman asked AUS (C) to update the Committee regarding the
decision to acquaint the Chinese of the intention to
withdraw the first battalion from Hong Kong in 1992. AUS (C)
stated that Ministers had agreed that we should advise the
Chinese and this had been done, but he recommended that the
