THIRTEENTH MEETING OF THE SINO-BRITISH JOINT LIAISON GROUP
135
The Sino-British Joint Liaison Group held its thirteenth meeting in London from 27-29 September 1989.
The Group had a comprehensive and frank exchange of views on developments related to the situation in Hong Kong since the twelfth meeting of the Joint Liaison Group. The two sides believe the faithful implementation of the Sino-British Joint Declaration on the question of Hong Kong is vital for ensuring the maintenance of
Hong Kong's long term prosperity and stability. Both sides reaffirmed their continued determination to abide by the Joint Declaration and to fulfil the various responsibilities it lays
down.
The Joint Liaison Group also reviewed in general terms the issues outstanding since the Group's twelfth meeting: this was useful for the future work of the group.
The Joint Liaison Group decided that its next meeting would take
place in Hong Kong from 5-8 December 1989
