financial services sector. In addition, this Branch is
responsible for monitoring the implementation of the
Government's economic services programmes including in
particular the development of an appropriate economic
infrastructure and the provision of economic advice and
analysis to all parts of the llong Kong Administration.
The principal policy responsibilities of the
Secretary for Economic Services are:-
(a) civil aviation including air traffic
rights, airport matters and tourism;
(b)
shipping and ports;
(c)
post and telecommunications;
(d)
energy and the utility companies;
(e)
the monitoring of public utilities
(other than transport utilities) in
accordance with Schemes of Control
(Traffic Controls); and
(E) food supplies.
The Secretary for Economic Services is directly
responsible to the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong
Government.
