provide for the forms of the roll of foreign lawyers and the register of foreign law firms;

include a provision prescribing fees payable in connection with the application for and granting of permission.
Sections 73 and 73A of the Ordinance empower the Council to make rules relating to the practice of law by solicitors. It is intended that the Council be provided with similar powers to make rules in relation to foreign lawyers and provision should therefore be made applying these sections to foreign lawyers as they apply to
solicitors.
Transitional
3.23
It is intended that all foreign lawyers and foreign law firms currently practising in Hong Kong should be required to comply with the admission and registration requirements. They will be given an adequate period of time in which to do so.
