The Secretary of State has seen and approved your submission of 1 June. He has sent a minute to the Chief Secretary seeking funds for the provision of tents and for a contribution to new facilities at Lye Mun Barracks. The Secretary of State agrees with you that we should proceed immediately with the despatch of the tents ie without waiting for a response from the Chief Secretary. Naturally we shall need the Treasury response before we make any greater financial commitments.
