HIPS 300,000 T37 / 500,000 Tristar 1. MOD have advised me that one round trip UK-HK-Hanoi-HK-UK would cost about £340,000. They note that a narrow boddied jet may not be ideal for such an operation They also are not keen on including
the RAF in such an operation.
2. MOD say that the alternative option of flying a plane to Hong Kong and leaving it there for say one to two weeks until a "suitable" time can be found, is out. The RAF do not wish to be without a
plane for such a length of time. It would also of course be even more expensive.
