12% in August 1989;

The percentage of people having a good impression of the Government's performance in

general and saying that the communication between the Government and the public was good reached a peak in December 1986 and decreased

to a lower level since then;

The percentage of people being satisfied with

the present situation in Hong Kong reached the

peak (92%) in December 1986 and decreased to

83% in August 1989; and

The percentage of people expecting the situation in Hong Kong to get better in the

next year or so reached a peak in June 1987 (33%) and decreased to 19% in August 1989.
