And how is this election committee
The answer is simple. It will be constituted by
a preparatory committee, half of the members of which are
appointed by China from Hong Kong and the other half
appointed by China from the mainland China. So in other
words it is a fully appointed preparatory committee appointed
by China, that will somehow - and we don't know how
constitute the election committee. And there is no doubt at
all in my mind that the reason why China wants this is to be
able to influence, if not control, the selection of the First
Chief Executive.
Now, then with the second term, that is live
years later, in the second term the election college will be
expanded to 800 - the preparatory committee has gone by that
time but we are not told how members of this electoral
college would be constituted.
