HIGH LEVEL MEETING WITH BP: BRIEFING
1.
Thank you for agreeing to provide briefing on Hong Kong for a high level meeting an FCO delegation will have with senior members of BP on Wednesday 8 February. The brief should cover political and economic developments.
2.
Discussions on Hong Kong and and several Far Eastern countries will last about 20 minutes. The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

Oil market up-date (including overview of supply/demand/ price/balance). BP to lead. 10 minutes.
Middle East immediate and long-term political developments. FCO to lead. 20 minutes. (Mr Munro)
iii) East Asia Japan. US/Japan trade relations, China,
(Mongolia), Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, Phillipines, Burma. 30 minutes. BP to lead.
iv)
The New United States Administration 20 minutes. FCO to lead (Mr Fearn).
First impressions.

Over lunch South Africa FCO to lead (Mr Munro), the EC in the light of the new Commission. BP to lead, and any other business.
The meeting is one of a series of occasional "set-piece" meetings the FCO holds with senior management from BP and Shell. The last meeting with BP was held two years ago and with Shell in December.
