The Secretary of State is meeting Lord Young on 8 March.
I submit a brief. It covers the issues referred to in
Mr Wall's minute of 28 February, namely:
(a) British trade and economic links with Hong Kong;
passports for Hong Kong investors;
(b)
(c)
land for our Consulate-General after 1997.
The brief also deals with the specific ideas in Lord Young's minute of 16 February to the Prime Minister about ways in which to boost Anglo-Hong Kong trade, including his proposal to appoint a London-based Trade Commissioner.
