As you may have heard, yet another organisation, HONGKONG 3,000 FOUNDATION, has been set up to search for possible ways of rebuilding confidence in Hong Kong. The group intends to research worthwhile ideas which might assure Hong Kong's future prosperity and then promote these around the world. Basically, its main objectives are:

the relocation of the UN to Hong Kong
the establishment of a worldwide "Friends of Hong Kong" encouraging community involvement in the future of Hong Kong encouraging Hong Kong companies to take positive steps to develop confidence
to press Britain to grant Right of Abode.
HONGKONG 3,000 will seek support from all of Hong Kong's population - it will not be an expatriate group. Its leader, Cliff Reece, is visiting London between 6 and 8 September and has asked me to assist him with a programme of meetings. In particular, he has requested a meeting with yourself and I hope this will prove possible.
