Detectives should be charged to the COI and Metropolitan Police respectively.
(b) Members of the party accommodated at Government House (except the Detective - see para (d) below) should receive one third of the appropriate rate of subsistence. Lady Howe should receive three quarters of that paid to the Secretary of State.
(c) Members of the party staying at the Furama Hotel will be on Conference terms, ie the British Trade Commission will pay the cost of the suite/rooms, standard breakfast, service and taxes, and each person will receive half the Class A rate of subsistence to cover all other expenses.
(a) All members of the party will be entitled to subsistence except the Detectives who provide their own (see Appendix I). However, the hotel bill for the Detectives (covering room, service and taxes only) should be paid by the British Trade Commission and charged to the Metropolitan Police. This also applies during the advance visit.
(e) The FCO Vote should also be debited with telephone calls and mixes for drinks purchased in the Head of News Department's suite. You are providing some duty free in the
suite.
(£) Other common service costs, ie cost of hire of office machinery, duty free for Head of News Department's suite etc should also be charge to FCO Vote Al(1) (U) (2).
Thank you letters
7.
I should be grateful if you would have ready for the Private Secretary on arrival a list of people (including titles, decorations etc) to whom thank you letters should be sent. A similar list is also needed for Lady Howe.
Airport Arrival
8. The party will need to know in advance details of the airport arrival arrangements [eg names and rank of the greeting party, Guard of Honour, National Anthem, any press statements, procedure for rest of party, occupants of numbered cars etc (I attach a suggested car allocation)].
