Thank you for your letter of 18 August in which you
asked whether it would be possible to arrange a meeting
with Francis Maude and myself on either 11 or 12 September.
Francis Maude and I are aware of the important role
your Chamber plays in Hong Kong and would very much like
to have met you and your delegation while you are in
London.
Unfortunately we will both be abroad on the days in
question. It might have been possible to fit in a meeting
on 13 September but I understand that you plan to return
to Hong Kong on 12 September. However I know that
Robin McLaren, the Under-Secretary responsible for Asia,
would be delighted to see you.
