1. Dr Sohmen's delegation is quite a high-powered one and would certainly have merited calls on Mr Maude and probably the Secretary of State in normal circumstances. It is a pity
that their dates do not suit.
2. In the circumstances, I shall be happy to see the delegation, most of whom I know. I see little point in
offering a call on a Minister without Hong Kong responsibilities.

Footnote: I saw Dr Sohmen over the weekend and can confirm that he and his wife entertained the Prime Minister whilst she was on holiday in Austria.
