GR 763 Advance Notification to British and HKG Representatives
of Officers Travelling on Duty
(1) Before an officer travela on duty to a self-
governing Commonwealth country or to a foreign country, and if
(a) the subject of the visit is of sufficient
importance/sensitivity; OF
(b) the visitor is a senior official whose presence it would be a proper courtesy to draw to the attention of the mission; or
(c) the security situation in the country to be visited makes prior notification necessary.
Than the Head of Department must forward the following information to the appropriate policy Branch Secretary in the Government Secretariat, for transmission to the British Babassy, High Commission or Representative:
(a) Name and rank of the officer;
(b) dates of arrival and departure;
(c) the purpose of the visit;
(d) whether the officer wishes accommodation to be arranged and, if so, details of the type required;
(e) whether the officer requires any facilities
e.g. talex, office or secretarial;
(f) whether the officer wishes arrangements to
be made for him to consult any organisation or Government agency in the country to be visited, with brief details of the matter concerned;
(8) flight number of aircraft, if known.
