VISIT OF DAME LYDIA DUNN TO LONDON IN AUGUST
Secretary State
Problem
YA
1.
Dame Lydia Dunn will be on holiday in London in the latter
half of August. She would be available for calls on FCO Ministers
from 21-24 August. What should we propose?
Recommendation
2.
It would be much appreciated in Hong Kong, but not essential, if the Secretary of State were to take an early opportunity to meet Dame Lydia Dunn, perhaps in Huntingdon. Subject to the Secretary of State's other commitments, and subject to the point in
paragraph 7 below, I recommend that we should tell Dame Lydia:
(a) the Secretary of State will not be in London during the period in question but would be happy to see her in Huntingdon if she were able to make the journey there;
(b) Mr Maude would in any case be able to meet Dame Lydia in London (he would be free to do so on the morning of 22 August).
