Thank you for your very kind letter of the 16th
January. I have been away in New Zealand for a short holiday
in pursuit of the wily New Zealand rainbow trout and have just got back.
We were delighted to have you over to the Auxiliaries and I am very pleased that you enjoyed the day. Ian Recton also enjoyed seeing you again.
Clearly we do have a big programme ahead of us and there is much to be done with a small staff. However there is great enthusiasm amongst everybody for the greatly expanded role and I have no doubt everything will be achieved on schedule- provided we can convince the Civil Service Branch of the need for haste!
We look forward very much to seeing you again when you will be able to inspect our new fleet.
