Well we have just started the campaign and so far the signs
are encouraging, it is early days, but I have every confidence that all those countries concerned are fully aware of the enormous burden that those boat people impose upon the people of Hong Kong.
INTERVIEWER:
If we take 1,000, how will we choose the 1,000 out of the
many thousands?
LORD GLEBARTHUR:
That of course is something which has taken place in the
past.
We have already taken some 13,000 or more over the last years and the selection basis will no doubt be on similar lines to that
which has happened over the last years.
