June. Genscher called on Chinese authorities to refrain from
further violence in an interview on 6 June. Chinese Ambassador
called in.

involving Bundestag committees cancelled. No meetings with senior
Chinese representatives.
"Large question-mark" over Li Peng's planned visit to the FRG in

Chinese Ambassador on 6 June.

Denmark
MFA statement on 6 June conveyed dismay at military intervention and fatalities and condemned the use of military force.
Action:
Forthcoming visits by officials to and from China cancelled. Planned visit in September by former President, Li Xiannian, will "almost certainly" be cancelled.
Ireland
Only issued EC joint communiqué.
Action:
Exchanges of messages to mark 10 years of diplomatic relations
cancelled. Anniversary will not now be celebrated.
