CSIS/Europe

6. Lees briefly mentioned his meetings in the FCO with Mr Carrick and Mr Gore-Booth, which he had found very useful. He claimed that the American end was now no problem CSIS would "deliver" any person from the Executive branch of the new Administration for any conference Lees set up (sic). But the European end remained a problem; he did not want to get into the hands of the Commission. I asked whether he had been in touch with Wilton Park ("not yet") and gave him their

brochures.

He said that he had seen a Mr Leach in London at Mr Gore-Booth's suggestion.
