•IN/T. FED have not got
a copy either. Nor 1. In my teleletter 020/393/1 to you of 12 January I said that I co had raised the question of arbitration and PRC organisations with Shi Jicheng at the MFA.
2.
At lunch with him on 3 March I asked him whether he might be able to let me have a response on this in the fairly near future. Shi said that the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office were still in touch with others concerned, notably the Guangdong Maritime Court, in an attempt to establish the full facts behind the problem raised by Mr De Nul. He assured me that he had not lost sight of the matter and said that he would get back to me as soon as he had something further to say.
3. I have no doubt that Shi will pursue this conscientiously and I will take the opportunity of reminding him from time to time that we would like to have a considered response.
