The amount of pocket money given to the non-volunteers (US$ 30
for each adult and US$15 for each child) is less than that given to
volunteers under the UNHCR scheme, in order that there should be
some financial incentive to volunteer. The reintegration assistance paid to the Vietnamese authorities is based on a per capita payment of US$620 for each returnee. This covers transport within Vietnam,
clothing, food, medicines, housing, vocational training and essential equipment.
