FCO ESTIMATES: THE PUS'S EVIDENCE TO THE FAC
1. The PUS has asked me to congratulate you for very successfully masterminding the briefing for his appearance before the Foreign Affairs Committee this morning. He was very grateful to you and those others who accompanied him to the hearing; but he was equally grateful to all those who contributed to the exercise, in whatever way.
2. Although there remain one or two points for follow-up following the hearing, the PUS thought that the briefing admirably covered the ground. He is very conscious of the work that went into its preparation, much of it done against very tight deadlines. He would be grateful if you would ensure that his personal thanks are passed to all concerned.
