By encouragement of- and liaison with- the Hong Kong Trade Advisory Group on imaginative ways of interesting a still greater number of UK business representatives in the HK market and HK's ever growing role as a regional entrepot and gateway to the Chinese market;

By maintaining a programme of DTI/HKTAG regional seminars on the attractions of the HK market;

By providing Government support for UK comapnies bidding for major projects in Hong Kong through Overseas Projects Fund assistance with pre-contractual costs and feasibility studies, ECGD support and general political support.

By ensuring that major DTI promotional activities on HK continue at established annual levels, ie. An average of 20-25 outward trade missions; British groups of exhibitors at approximately 8 international exhibitions in HK; 1-3 store promotions displaying UK consumer goods; and by investigating the possibilities for more frequent inward missions;

By ensuring the successful implementation of- and maximum commercial benefit from the 'Britain in Hong Kong' exhibition in November 1989;

By supporting and working with the British Trade Commission on all commercial activities and initiatives.
