Overseas Adminstrative Officers now generally required to leave
the Service at age of 57.
Overseas pensionale officers superseded for promotion, or
required to retire early, are compensated for loss of career or prospects by Hong Kong Government.
Looking ahead
Likely that there will continue to be net reduction in number of
overseas officers of between 100 to 150 per annum.
By 1997, estimated that overseas officers will comprise 1% of
whole Civil Service.
