2. The only way I can think of to obtain information on how Portugal is dealing with archives in the Macau context is by an approach to the Portuguese, either in Lisbon or in Houghton

3. But before we do that we need to consider whether there could be any adverse repercussions would the Portuguese want information from us in archives or other areas? Would Chinese suspicions be aroused if they learnt of such an approach? sure you will have views on this.
